Anyone who knows Chef G knows that he has no shortage of creative, ingenious ideas. One of his favorites over the years was his debut of ‘Chef G and the Dinner Jackets’. Sounds like the name of a really obscure but awesome band right? It definitely has a ring to it.

Dinner Events with Chef Greg
Like I said, Chef G is a culinary enigma, so his events are out of the box and out of this world delicious. This fun group wanted an in home cooking lesson, and G came up with the idea to class it up and make it a memorable evening. How?
By coming up with a fun theme, delicious menu (that can be recreated at home), unforgettable and engaging instruction, and most of all- a reminder that food is more than sustenance, it’s a bonding experience and can fuel our bodies for better or worse.
Private Cooking Lessons with Class
Our friends here donned their dinner jackets and rolled up their sleeves for a fun night of learning and delicious food. As you see in the picture above, we really did encourage them to get into the mood for this event and wear their favorite dinner jacket. It’s not every day that we get to dress up and feel transported in your own home. We encouraged a fun date night in, AND fun and engaging instruction from Chef G.
The theme of dinner jackets set the mood for a fun night where we became fast friends and Chef Greg walked our guests through a three course meal. The meal itself was simple, but he showed with each step that simple AND delicious is just a matter of paying attention to technique and details.
In Home Cooking Instruction
Chef Greg is a certified master chef and has helped numerous aspiring cooks transform into professionals in their fields. He loves teaching, insists it’s in his blood to share his wealth of knowledge. And lucky for us! He is an incredible teacher and his passion is infectious. He is also a master of performance, theme, and creating a moment. In this case, he chose to transport our friends to a high class restaurant with the benefit of learning how that delicious meal was created.
Once everyone had their dinner jackets on and had a seat around the counter, he started with the salad.
How to Make a Salad

We started off with a salad that emphasized how you can get the most flavor out of each ingredient, rather that masking everything with a strong dressing. Fruit juice, oil, and a special blend of crushed spices was all this salad needed to really shine. That, and the demonstration of how each ingredient was prepared.
Chef Greg is nicknamed “laser blade” for his precision with a chef knife. He demonstrated how to properly chop each ingredient to enhance their natural flavors. Each item is cut to an appropriate size for ease of eating, as well as visual appearance and maintaining integrity of the ingredient.
Traditional Lasagna
There is nothing like a homemade traditional lasagna! Chef Greg walked our guests through each step of assembly, including how to make your own tomato and meat sauce, and the best way to treat the ricotta. Tasting throughout the cooking process is always encouraged to help you develop your palate.

Lasagna is a fun and interactive meal to demonstrate cooking, but Chef Greg is a master chef, meaning no cuisine is off limits! If you have a favorite dish, he would love to walk you through the steps that it takes to create it. His helpful tips and knowledge of cooking will take away the intimidating aspects of cooking and get you making your favorite dish in no time.

Let’s Eat!
Unlike a catered event, you get to eat throughout the evening. Chef Greg is a seasoned professional and knows an evening is better with a satisfied stomach. So let’s eat!

Now for Dessert
We can’t forget dessert! Chef Greg frequently gets requests for his traditional French style chocolate mousse. It’s dark, decadent, and done with such perfection that it literally feels like a chocolate cloud in your mouth. Of course our friends here asked us to show them how it was done, and then we commenced our feast.
